Spectacular Banyan Tree Wall – A Hidden Gem of Rural Beauty

The majestic tree walls, typically seen only in European royal gardens, can also be admired in Taiwan. Hidden within Lubei Community in Yuanchang Township, Yunlin, there are two towering and neatly aligned banyan tree walls. The rows of banyan trees grow intertwined, stretching out in a uniquely spectacular fashion. Beyond their grand scenery, they primarily serve a windbreak function. Strolling along the banyan tree avenue, you can feel as if you're being enveloped in the fresh forest aroma.

Lubei Community actually boasts a wealth of local customs, traditions, and historic sites. In addition to the stunning banyan tree walls, there’s also a tree classroom beneath a century-old banyan, bougainvillea, a century-old chinaberry tree, and a Catholic church. Thanks to the community’s dedicated preservation and management efforts, all have become iconic landmarks and symbols of the area.
