The Sound of the Sea in Hsinchu has become an internet-famous hidden spot in recent years, with its composition that seems to stretch endlessly toward the ocean surface, resembling a road to paradise that dives deep into the sea. However, it was severely damaged by Typhoon Soudelor in 2015, and the Sound of the Sea has since become a thing of the past. Meanwhile, in the Donggang Old Pier of Houliau Village in Penghu, another hidden gem that appears to plunge into the sea like a road to paradise has emerged. This abandoned pier has been unused for many years, and even locals may not know of its existence. Unlike the Sound of the Sea, this secret spot features a winding form, twisting like a snake as it heads into the center of the sea, sparking endless imagination.
