As spring blooms and the pink cherry blossom viewing craze takes over, a purple wave is about to sweep in. By the Mingde Waterfront in Miaoli lies the largest lavender garden in northern Taiwan — Grace Herb Garden, spanning 7,000 ping of land with 20,000 lavender plants exuding the rich aroma of true lavender. The blooming season runs from March to May each year. Not only is free entry welcomed, but the farm owners also invite visitors to personally experience planting, harvesting, and essential oil extraction.

The farm was originally established to help individuals recovering from drug addiction reintegrate into society by cultivating skills in planting and research — a venture with special meaning. Grace’s products, made from essential oils and hydrosols sourced from their own farm, include handmade soaps, shampoos, body washes, and skincare items. Free from harmful substances and artificial fragrances, these products are gentle on the body, bring back the pure scent of lavender, and are environmentally friendly as they use soil-degradable materials, making non-toxic home products accessible to everyone.
