Chubu Centrair International Airport ranked No. 1 among global regional airports

Chubu Centrair International Airport was rated the best regional airport in the world for 2016, and has been ranked as the airport with the best service for two consecutive years by travelers. The No. 1 best regional airport in the world is Chubu Centrair International Airport, while the 2nd and 3rd places were Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany and Stewart International Airport in the United States.

The “regional airport” in this evaluation refers to airports outside of capital cities, primarily serving short to medium-haul routes rather than long-distance flights. Opened in February 2005, Chubu Centrair International Airport is Japan’s third offshore airport, following Nagasaki Airport and Kansai International Airport. It boasts the most comprehensive shopping and dining facilities in all of Japan. The airport features Japanese-themed installations, and offers a wide selection of meals and souvenirs.
