The Nantou Lantern Festival’s two zones offered over 20 themed lantern displays, combining six captivating themes across land, water, and air. Visitors could explore from daytime to nighttime—during the day enjoying sand sculptures, flower fields, and exhibitions, and in the evening experiencing fireworks, water dances, the colorful lights of the romantic Lovers’ Bridge, and various exciting performances. Spanning all three realms, the event is expected to attract over 5 million visitors this year.

The main lantern “Lucky Doodoo” was designed as a futuristic tech-inspired pig, reflecting the spirit of the modern tech generation. The pig’s interior and exterior were equipped with high-tech spotlights. During the show, the entire main lantern rotated 360 degrees, synchronized with music, presenting a vibrant and dazzling spectacle. The show ran every half hour starting at 6 PM throughout the festival.
The newly completed white romantic Lovers’ Bridge transforms into a rainbow-lit bridge in the evening, connecting the Nantou main lantern area at the convention center with the 4D Sand Sculpture Cultural Park. Visitors can walk onto the bridge to admire the 2.5-hectare floral sea view along the Mouluo River. This year, in the Light Carpet Garden Lantern Area behind the convention center, a Lantern Robot Meet-and-Greet Show takes place hourly at 7–9 PM on February 2, 9, 16, and 23–24. This robot, the world’s only one weighing 200 kilograms and worn by a real person, is not to be missed.
