Affected by a frontal system, the plum rain season has arrived, with temperatures across Taiwan starting to climb. Monday’s weather is generally sunny. On Tuesday, the 9th, a weak frontal system will pass, bringing localized brief showers in the western part of the island during the early morning to late morning. In the afternoon, there will be localized brief thunderstorms in the northern, eastern, and mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan.
Starting on the 10th, there will be localized brief showers in the eastern part of the island, with localized brief thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan in the afternoon. From the 11th onward, there will be localized brief thunderstorms in the northern region. Between the 10th and 13th, the weather will generally be cloudy with occasional sunshine.

On Mother’s Day, the 14th of May, the frontal system will once again affect the region, bringing localized brief showers in central and northern Taiwan as well as the eastern part of the island. Other areas will be mostly cloudy, with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon.
In terms of temperature, this week will see continued warming. Kinmen, Lienchiang, and Penghu will experience larger day-night temperature variations, with temperatures generally between 20–25°C. Other regions will see temperatures mostly ranging from 24–30°C. The northern parts may also see highs of up to 32°C, while southern areas such as Pingtung could reach a high of 35°C. For Mother’s Day, which many are concerned about, temperatures will be slightly lower, with highs generally around 28–29°C. This week also has a high chance of rainfall, and although most showers will be brief, it’s still advisable to carry an umbrella when going out.
