The hidden gem of Eagle Stone Peak in Toucheng, Yilan, went viral online overnight, drawing crowds of tourists eager to take photos and pay homage to its sweeping views. However, due to geological and safety concerns, it was closed at the end of 2016, leaving many netizens feeling deeply disappointed. Later, however, some netizens discovered another scenic spot — Weishui Hill — within the樱花陵园 (Cherry Blossom Cemetery) in Jiaoxi, Yilan. Perched on an 800-meter-high platform that extends from the building, it offers a panoramic view of the vast Lanyang Plain and even a distant glimpse of Guishan Island. This spot can be considered the “Eagle Stone Peak 2.0,” quickly becoming another viral hidden gem online. But since this area is actually located behind safety railings, the act of climbing over them is extremely dangerous. As a result, the Yilan County Government has put up signs warning visitors not to climb.
