The ultimate representative of minimalist style, MUJI has created a simple and fresh home aesthetic that is loved by many. In addition to furniture, clothing, accessories, and other lifestyle items, MUJI has also begun to expand into areas such as housing construction, flower shops, and coffee shops. Since the launch of MUJI HOUSE in 2000 and MUJI HUT in 2015, 2017 saw the introduction of a brand-new project called “MUJI’s Cabin,” announced for official release in autumn. This holiday cabin measures just 9.1 and 3.1 square meters respectively, totaling around 3.7 tsubo (approx. 3.7 square meters) of space, once again challenging the boundaries of minimalist architecture. Currently available only in Japan for purchase, the price is 3 million Japanese yen, and buyers are offered a 1 to 5-year warranty depending on the location.

MUJI’s Cabin is a new project launched in 2017, following the MUJI HOUSE initiative since 2000 and MUJI HUT in 2015.

The MUJI holiday cabin is 100% made in Japan, using cedar wood treated with special waterproofing techniques. Traditional Japanese shipbuilding methods have been applied to make the structure more sturdy, while the floor is finished with mortar to prevent moisture. The design maintains its minimalist style, featuring a sloped, high-raftered roof and an approximately 3-square-meter porch outside the door—making the cabin not only spacious but also bright and airy, offering a fully relaxing space.
MUJI’s Cabin is 100% made in Japan.
