The largest travel exhibition in southern Taiwan, the “2017 Kaohsiung Travel Fair” hosted by the Kaohsiung Travel Association, was held from May 19 to 22 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. In collaboration with the local Taiwanese travel experience platform KKday, the travel fair offered discounts of up to 30% on selected products and up to 10% off on tour packages to places such as Sabah, Cebu, and Bangkok. During the event, AirAsia also set up a “Lucky Gashapon Fortune Machine.” By completing specified tasks, visitors could spin the machine for free, with a chance to win AirAsia flight tickets, KKday 90% discount coupons, and over 1,000 other mysterious gifts.
AirAsia has been awarded the Skytrax World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for eight consecutive years and is a leading brand in the low-cost airline market, offering convenient and diverse flight options with a route network covering more than 120 destinations. Recognizing the development potential of the southern Taiwan market, AirAsia increased the frequency of the Kaohsiung–Kuala Lumpur route to one flight per day starting May 19 and simultaneously launched a special promotional price of just NT$1,488 (before tax) for one-way flights. Special prices for the Taipei–Kuala Lumpur and Taipei–Sabah routes were also introduced, starting from NT$1,888 (before tax) and NT$1,388 (before tax), respectively.
Additionally, popular routes favored by the people of Kaohsiung, such as those to Penang, Langkawi, and Bangkok, also featured special offers starting from just NT$2,548 (before tax). Flights from Taipei via Kuala Lumpur to popular Australian destinations such as Perth, the Gold Coast, Sydney, and Melbourne start from just NT$3,551 (before tax), with travel dates available from June 12 to October 30, 2017.
