On the 2nd and 3rd, affected by a stationary front and southwestern airflow, scattered showers or thunderstorms are expected across the country, with a probability of heavy rain or even super heavy rain of extreme magnitude. On the 4th and 5th, influenced by the stationary front, scattered showers or thunderstorms are expected, along with localized heavy or heavy rain. On the 6th, as the front moves away, there will still be brief showers in various areas. Between midnight on June 2 and 18:00, the area with the highest rainfall was Shisan in Sanzhi District, which recorded 643 mm, while Kaohsiung and Taoyuan also recorded 469 mm of rainfall.

Due to the heavy rainfall, many areas have also issued work and school suspension notices.

The New Taipei City Government announced that areas including Shimen, Jinshan, Sanzhi, Tamsui, and Wanli are predicted to reach accumulated rainfall levels that meet the criteria for work and school suspensions, which will take effect immediately on June 2. The Miaoli County Government announced that due to continuous landslides on roads caused by the heavy rain, Taian Township will suspend work and school on June 2; Nantou Ren’ai Township will also suspend work and school on June 2. Numerous disaster reports have emerged from heavily affected areas, with flooding occurring in Tamsui and Keelung. The Taoyuan City Flood Response Center was activated at level two at 13:00 on June 2, with areas such as Xinyi District, Pingzhen District, Zhongli District, Dayuan District, Luzhu District, and Guanyin District in Taoyuan City reaching level one flood alert. Due to severe flooding, Keelung City announced the suspension of work and school starting at 15:00 on June 2. In Kaohsiung City, Zhangshan Elementary School, Baoshan Elementary School, and Taoyuan Junior High School in Taoyuan District suspended classes and work on the afternoon of June 2.If not necessary, stay indoors as much as possible.

Multiple county and city governments and district offices also provide sandbags. Those in need can contact their local government units as soon as possible and pay attention to water supply issues — water storage preparation is advised.
Affected by heavy rain, the underground parking lot at Tamsui MRT Station suspended service and vehicle access after noon on June 2. Some schools located in mountainous areas or regions hit by torrential rains have also announced class suspensions. Commuters planning to attend classes in person are advised to check with their school first to confirm whether classes are taking place, to avoid unnecessary trips.

Mountainous areas must be on high alert for landslides and flooding triggered by sudden heavy downpours, while southeastern regions need to be cautious of foehn winds. In response to this wave of southwestern airflow and the plum rain front, the Central Weather Bureau has issued a special weather warning. Taipei, Taichung, Hualien, Nantou, and Chiayi are under alerts for extremely heavy rain, while New Taipei City, Keelung City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County have reached the caution level for torrential rain. Many mountainous area schools have also announced class and even work suspensions. For all travel-related activities, please pay close attention to safety and monitor for any cancellations of transport or events.
