The Jinchengwu Tree on Beilang Boulevard in Chishang, a camphor tree standing amidst vast, magnificent rice paddies, became famous thanks to an EVA Air commercial, but such a view can also be seen in Taichung. Located beside the Zhongzhang Highway in Nantun, Taichung, in addition to the spectacular rice fields, there is also a century-old green banyan tree. Known as the “Taichung version of the Jinchengwu Tree,” it is also referred to by netizens as Taichung’s little Beilang Boulevard. Recently, the lush green rice fields here have begun to turn golden, resembling a beautiful hidden gem in the city, and this field and sea of rice have been included in the urban planning zone to preserve this rural landscape.
