The Imaginative World of Cocoa
We spent a joyful and unforgettable camping trip with my uncle’s family at the Golden Forest Camping Area. On this day, we packed up and headed back to our respective cities to continue chasing life’s dreams.
For lunch, we visited the “Private Homestay Restaurant,” which had good reviews on Google. To our surprise, we found a swing set and a plum blossom garden there. The kids played on the swings while the adults relaxed lazily in the plum garden—it was quite delightful. The Hakka cuisine at this “Private Homestay Restaurant” was delicious and definitely worth a try.

This time, we decided to extend our camping trip by one more day and only broke camp on Monday as we left the Golden Forest Camping Area. We did a quick Google search and decided to have Hakka food for lunch at the “Private Homestay Restaurant.”

To our surprise, we found a swing set and a slide outside the restaurant, instantly waking up all the kids who had been asleep in the car. Unfortunately, the slide was wet and couldn’t be used, but the kids were all smiles just playing on the swings.

The outdoor decor of the restaurant was clean and simple. It was already past 2 p.m. that day, and there were no other customers in the entire restaurant, yet the owner still served us—thank you so much.
On this day, we ordered multiple dishes including sliced chicken, preserved plum pork, signature tofu, pickled vegetable egg, and salted egg bitter melon... Our group of four adults and five kids finished every dish on the table, and the kids even ordered an extra serving of the signature tofu afterward.
Outside the restaurant, there is also a private plum blossom garden, exclusive to the “Private Restaurant Homestay.” Though not very large in area, when the plum blossoms are in full bloom, it’s still quite eye-catching.
This camping trip in Nantou involved the unexpected collapse of our rainfly due to heavy rain, forcing us to relocate, which left us physically and mentally exhausted. However, this journey also led us to the pleasant surprise of discovering the plum garden. These unexpected delights and delicious meals helped us conclude the trip on a beautiful note.
There are many other well-known attractions near Nantou, such as the Atayal Resort, Forest Trail, Sky Ladder, Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, Sun Moon Lake, Huisun Forest Station, Niuer Stone Sculpture Park, Puli Distillery, Carp Lake, Qingjing Farm, Aowanda... and many more that the Keke Family hasn’t visited yet. There are still so many places to see, which means the Keke Family will surely return to our favorite city—Nantou.
