It's as if you’ve entered a world of endless sights.
The entire exhibition area mainly focuses on the history of the development of sisal.
There aren’t many visitors... step in and you’ll discover another perspective.

The park has a parking lot. After parking, you can enter from the visitor entrance.
Right at the entrance, there is a pavilion.
As you walk along, you can see the sisal plants in the park.
It allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of sisal.
Learn about sisal:
The tips of sisal leaves have a sharp, hard spine. Military units often planted them around camps, covering large areas, which could later serve as barriers against paratroopers.
And, of course, there are these adorable little animals.
The park displays factories from the Japanese colonial period that produced sisal, along with actual sisal specimens.
In 1902, a Japanese technician named Yasushi Tashiro transplanted young sisal plants to the Hengchun Tropical Plant Special Breeding Farm.
Due to successful trials, it also brought significant economic benefits to the Hengchun Peninsula (source: internet).

In the 76th year of the Republic of China (1987), the sisal industry officially came to an end. To allow future generations to revisit this glorious period of sisal, the Kenting Management Office turned the Hengchun Sisal Plant into the Sisal Industry History Exhibition Area.
It really feels like you've come to a fake Japan.
The park is huge... beyond the front exhibition hall, there’s also a torii gate and a sika deer environmental education area at the very back.

No lie – this is really in Hengchun.
The torii gate at the end is a great spot for photos.
It looks great and is photogenic whether you shoot from below looking up or from above looking down.
The exhibition area includes: ruins such as Japanese-era sisal factory buildings, ponds, rope-pulling platforms... all of which can be visited along the designated route.
It’s a quiet spot. Aside from staff maintaining the grounds, we were the only visitors that day.
But it’s actually a fantastic place for photos... when green grass meets the blue sky alongside old buildings,
it fills this off-the-beaten-path spot with a lot of charm~
The Jute Industry Historical Exhibition Area is less than a ten-minute drive from the Longluan Lake Nature Center.
