New Attraction by the "Architect of God" – World Heritage Site Opens to Public for the First Time After 130 Years

Antoni Gaudí, the Spanish architect known as the "Architect of God," is famed around the world for his highly distinctive and fantastical design style. His works—from the Palau Güell and Casa Milà to the century-defining masterpiece, the Sagrada Família—are all world-renowned architectural achievements. Among them, his debut work, the "Casa Vicens," a UNESCO World Heritage Site imbued with strong Arabic and Oriental charm, is set to open to the public for the first time in autumn 2017.

Casa Vicens is a private residence and the first architectural work designed by Gaudí. Built between 1883 and 1889, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. Located at Carrer de les Carolines 24 in Barcelona’s Gràcia district, the site is situated in a relatively narrow area, yet this residence is quite large, spanning four floors with an area of nearly 3,800 square meters.
