Taiwan's largest lotus pond in full bloom – Enjoy the view for free on the arched scenic bridge

Dongshi Forestry Culture Park features a 5-hectare ecological pond where lotuses are in full bloom, making it the largest single lotus pond in Taiwan. The park is open to the public for free. Right now, the lotuses are in peak bloom, often attracting wild birds from the nearby Daxue Mountain, along with the uniquely historic atmosphere of the former timber processing site. Visitors coming to admire the flowers are sure to leave with unforgettable memories.

Originally established as the timber processing plant of the government-owned Daxue Mountain Forestry Company, Dongshi Forestry Park is located on Dongguan Road in Dongshi District and serves as a key gateway to Guguan, Baxianshan, and the Daxue Mountain National Forest Recreation Area. Every summer during the lotus blooming season, the pond becomes a sea of colorful lotuses set against a backdrop of green mountains, clear water, traditional houses, and wood carvings—creating a picturesque rural scene that draws many photography enthusiasts and tourists.
