In recent years, due to factors such as local management models and a decline in mainland Chinese tourists, visitor numbers to Kenting have plummeted. Many hotels struggle to attract guests, making operations difficult, and the once-bustling atmosphere of Kenting Night Market has faded.

During the music festival, various music events and related activities such as beer parties, bubble parties, and EDM parties are held at different venues around Kenting, attracting large crowds of music fans. Attendance grew from around 250,000 in the early years to 840,000 in 2014, but has significantly declined in recent years, impacting Kenting’s tourism. The 2019 relocation will particularly affect local tourism businesses, especially those that have already sold advance bookings.
On the other hand, many Kenting businesses are offering promotions and events. Travelers who still want to enjoy Kenting’s scenery can plan a trip during this period.
