To catch the tail end of summer, The Regent Taipei is inviting the wildly popular ice dessert shop “Roadside Ice’s Monster” from Taichung to pop up at the hotel from August 22 to September 5. The collaboration will offer various super-cute Snow Monster Ices topped with handcrafted monster icing big eyes, available at the azie Restaurant on the first floor, the Upper Terrace Lounge on the second floor, and the Secret Garden on the B2 level. In addition to the already beloved Hokkaido Tokachi fresh milk, Uji matcha, and the Taichung store-exclusive Genmai sencha flavors, two brand-new Regent-exclusive items have been created: “Lychee Ruby,” made with imported French lychee puree and Taiwan’s organic Red Jade (Taiwan Tea No. 18), and the indulgent “Monster Sea Party,” combining five bold flavors—Hokkaido Tokachi fresh milk, Uji matcha, black sesame, French cocoa, and Miyako Island snow salt peanuts.

“Roadside Ice’s Monster” was founded in the spring of 2015. The Japanese word “路地 (roji)” refers to small alleys off main streets, and the team aimed to bring delightful surprises to urban dwellers amid the hustle and bustle. Initially, “Roadside Ice’s Monster” featured soft serve ice cream made from fresh Hokkaido milk as its base, incorporating a variety of authentic Japanese ingredients to create both surprising visuals and unforgettable flavors. Later, the shop introduced authentic Japanese machines to produce snowflake shaved ice, which features an ultra-smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture enhanced by handcrafted monster icing big eyes. These adorable, whimsical, and therapeutic-looking shaved ice creations quickly became a massive hit, amassing huge popularity not only among local Taiwanese customers but also becoming a must-try item on foreign tourists’ lists.
For this special collaboration, “Roadside Ice’s Monster” has created two limited-time flavors exclusive to The Regent. In addition to the “Monster Sea Party” featuring the five aforementioned flavors, the other is “Lychee Ruby,” which combines Red Jade black tea with subtle hints of mint and natural cinnamon, paired with imported French lychee puree. Upon tasting, the layered aromas unfold luxuriously on the palate, while its stunning white-and-amber gradient appearance captivates the senses.
To welcome the arrival of the “Roadside Ice Monsters,” The Regent Taipei has also launched “Lucky Little Monster Cakes,” including: Red Monster, a white chocolate ganache covering strawberry jelly and vanilla wild berry cake with a tangy-sweet flavor; Blue Monster, blending sweet lychee ganache and grapefruit jelly for a delightful taste experience; Black Monster, featuring crispy sesame almond chocolate brittle paired with rich sesame ganache; Green Monster, a silky matcha tiramisu filled with red bean and colorful coconut flakes; and Purple Monster, combining rich chocolate mousse with sweet purple yam. Each cake is priced at NT$80 and will be available in limited quantities daily at the Regent Gift Shop during the event period.
