Zhushiqi Township also offers stunning cultural and natural wonders. The area is famous for its Feicuihu Lunchboxes, and over two-thirds of the century-old Alishan Forest Railway runs through the township, featuring diverse and ever-changing forests along the way. Below are five recommended railway attractions in western Zhushiqi, including lush woodlands and historical-cultural sites.

1. Zhushqi Park – Fairy of Flowers Trail / Sky Corridor
The Fairy of Flowers Trail and Sky Corridor in Zhushqi Park are built among the trees without cutting down a single one, fully embodying environmental protection and greening. The walkway is made of netting, allowing visitors to stand above and overlook the vast beauty of the forest.

2. Zhushqi Station
Zhushqi Station marks the boundary between the flatland and mountain sections of the Alishan Railway. The mountain section is serviced by 28-ton steam locomotives, while the flatland uses 18-ton ones — the scenery is quite unique.

Built around 1906, Zhushqi Station still retains its Japanese-era cypress wood architecture, exuding a strong traditional Japanese style. It is the most well-preserved structure along the Alishan Forest Railway and is a rare architectural gem.

3. Niuchoaixi Bridge
Niuchoaixi Bridge is a single-track railway bridge that spans a river, located between Zhushqi Station and Zhangnaoliao Station. It features a steel truss and open-web design. Constructed in 1907, due to its geographical location and other factors, it is a significant railway facility and a renowned railway scenic spot.
