1. Hu Cuo Liao Painted Village

The painted village at Grandma’s house in Hu Cuo Liao, Shanhua District, was initiated by a granddaughter living in the city who wanted to cheer up her grandmother, who refused to move to the urban area. She began painting the old walls, and the heartwarming bond between the generations moved the entire local community. Residents started joining in to paint their outer walls, and over the past year, in addition to characters like Totoro, the Malayan tapir, robots, and zodiac-themed walls, even more murals have been added.

2. Jimmy Liao Theme Park at Lakeside Ya She in the Southern Taiwan Science Park
The Jimmy Liao Park within the Southern Taiwan Science Park is a popular attraction. Though compact in size, it features brightly colored characters from Jimmy Liao’s picture books scattered across the green lawns. Designed around the concept of Jimmy Liao’s book "If I Could Make a Wish," the park includes scenes like a boy watering hopeful seedlings with a lamp-like watering can, a cat sitting on a wooden bridge staring blankly at a Viking ship, and a round-eyed tabby cat stretching on a bridge at sunrise. This small green space is filled with boundless imagination.
