Meet friends through music in Bitan (Emerald Lake)! New Taipei’s “Jazz Band Sounds of U” concert returns for its second edition

On July 2, the New Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau gathered people through music at the East Bank Plaza of Bitan Scenic Area in Xindianwith the event “Jazz Band Sounds of U.”Using the outdoor scenery as a stage, the event allowed music fans to enjoy the refreshing evening air and experience new emotions toward jazz, set against the backdrop of the beautifully lit suspension bridge.

The performance, featuring a collaboration between the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, former chairman of the Taiwan Music Culture International Exchange Association Chao Chia-chu, and renowned musician Teacher Lee Shao-hsiung, presented a jazz band performance with a repertoire including classic hits and traditional Taiwanese folk songs. The goal was to deliver a musical feast that blends classical and jazz styles.

The Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that the public can take convenient public transportation or ride bicycles to the venue. In addition to enjoying the riverside scenery along the Xindian River, visitors can also experience a unique take on Bitan. For those who love music and have an interest in hiking, walking, and photography, visiting Bitan in the cool evening breeze is an excellent choice. Travelers interested in immersive experiences might also consider visiting the Wulai Scenic Area to enjoy waterfalls and hot springs.
