The world’s cutest broomcorn plants make their debut – 4.5 million blooms create a romantic sea of flowers

These incredibly adorable pom-pom-like broomcorn plants form a vast and spectacular sea of flowers, so healing that you’ll want to live here. Located about a two-hour drive from Tokyo in Ibaraki Prefecture, Hitachi Seaside Park offers different floral landscapes throughout the year. Among the most famous are the baby blue eyes flowers in mid-April and the broomcorn plants in early October. The magnificent carpet of 4.5 million blooming broomcorn plants is even hailed as one of the must-see breathtaking sights and one of the most romantic flower seas in the world.

After the baby blue eyes flower season each year, the broomcorn plants take the stage. Currently, they have grown to about 70 cm tall, forming a lush green expanse. Around late September to October, they will be in full bloom, presenting a stunning crimson sea of flowers.

Spanning 350 hectares, Hitachi Seaside Park is Japan’s largest national park. In addition to enjoying various types of flowers in different zones, visitors can also have fun at the nearby children’s amusement park. Moreover, you can rent a bicycle to ride along the bike paths while taking in the scenery, or take the seaside train for a ride around the area to admire the beautiful blue sea and white sandy beach.
