Zhe Tian Cake Shop has been likened by netizens to “the Taiwanese version of Japan’s HARBS fruit mille-feuille.” For most Taiwanese, their introduction to fruit mille-feuille likely comes from “HARBS.” Compared to HARBS’s opulence, Zhe Tian is more like a cozy, minimalist café. Its layers of pastry are filled with whipped cream, custard sauce, bananas, strawberries, kiwis, and other seasonal fruits—delicately smooth and entirely unburdensome, sweet yet never cloying.

Although Japanese by birth, the owner, Zhe Tian Da, fell in love with Taiwan and wanted to bring the best of Japan to the island. His dessert shop is his way of doing so. He aims to create desserts using the most natural ingredients, ensuring everyone can enjoy them with peace of mind.

In addition to Taipei, a second branch recently opened at Linkou Mitsui Outlet Park. The small shop, designed by a Japanese designer, is perfect for photos and check-ins. It’s incredibly delightful to enjoy tasty desserts while shopping.
