Typhoon Guchol (No. 17) may form as early as the 4th, located about 1,000 kilometers southeast of the southernmost tip of Taiwan, and is gradually moving toward the Bashi Channel. The peripheral cloud systems of the tropical depression and the subsequent typhoon will begin affecting Taiwan from the 5th. It is expected that the typhoon’s intensity will weaken as it approaches Taiwan, but precautions should still not be taken lightly.
