Keelung residents now have their own WIFI！ High-speed WIFI available at Marine Plaza starting June 25

To celebrate the 130th anniversary of Keelung Port, Marine Plaza by the harbor is set to debut a brand-new look to the public, and the Keelung City Government has also completed the installation of the first “Keelung City Wi-Fi” high-end wireless internet environment. Mayor Lin You-chang announced this good news to the public, stating that it will be available for free use starting June 25.

Huang Jun-yi, Director of the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission of Keelung City Government, stated that the newly installed Keelung City Wi-Fi uses top-grade wireless internet equipment paired with 1G/600M fiber optic network.Users only need to follow the Mayor’s Facebook fan page or add Keelung City Government as a Line friend to use it for free.In addition to receiving ongoing updates on municipal affairs and local tourism information through social networks, residents can also instantly share the beautiful scenery of Keelung Marine Plaza with the world online.

Mayor Lin You-chang also added that in addition to covering Marine Plaza, this service will be gradually extended to other Keelung City Wi-Fi zones such as Cultural Plaza, Civic Plaza, Flying Kite Plaza in front of Keelung Port Building, and the entrance area around Aisi Road at Keelung Miaokou. This will provide more high-end wireless internet spaces in the city center and further advance Keelung towards becoming a smart city.
