Typhoon Talim, currently a mild typhoon (No. 18, international name TALIM), is centered at 18.8°N latitude, 134.8°E longitude, moving northwestward at a speed of 29 kilometers per hour. Forecasts from various countries show a slight northward shift in the typhoon’s projected path, with a high likelihood of it making landfall in the Yilan-Hualien area before veering northwestward to affect northern Taiwan. In addition to the possibility of intensifying into a severe typhoon, its speed is also not to be underestimated. It could make landfall as early as Wednesday (13th) afternoon, so the entire country needs to prepare for the typhoon. Travelers planning to go abroad or on outings in the coming days should also pay special attention to flight and transportation conditions.

The maximum wind speed near the center of Typhoon Talim is 30 meters per second (equivalent to 108 kilometers per hour), corresponding to Force 11 winds. The maximum instantaneous gusts reach 38 meters per second (equivalent to 137 kilometers per hour), corresponding to Force 13 winds. Additionally, attention should be paid to another tropical depression — Tropical Depression 1002 hPa — located at 14.5°N latitude, 124.5°E longitude, in the eastern waters of the Philippines, moving westward at 20 kilometers per hour. It shows signs of developing into a mild typhoon, and if it forms, it will become Typhoon Doksuri (No. 19).This also warrants close attention in the days ahead.
