Pingxi Sky Lanterns Also Shine on Mid-Autumn — A One-Day Train Tour of Four Major Attractions

The century-old Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival in New Taipei City attracts over 100,000 visitors every year. In 2017, the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival was held for the first time during the Mid-Autumn Festival, with the lantern release event taking place at Pingxi Junior High School on October 4. Below are also selected scenic railway trips to stations such as Jing Tong, Pingxi, Lingjiao, and Wanggu, which visitors can use as a reference. 1. Wanggu Station

Wanggu Station in Pingxi is one of the favorite photo spots for many photography enthusiasts. Its unique location and surroundings create stunning compositions and atmosphere, earning it the nickname “the most mysterious station” among netizens. When visiting Wanggu, you can check out the famous Qinghe Suspension Bridge, Huiyao Waterfall, Wanggu Waterfall, Wanggukeng Ancient Trail, and Monet Café.

2. Lingjiao Station

The bay-style platform at Lingjiao Station is quite picturesque, and it has been used as a filming location for many dramas. The area features many historical sites, including coal transport facilities, the Japanese-era Mining Dormitory Museum, and the Tsai Family Western-Style House, all offering a strong sense of history. Additionally, there's the Lingjiao Liao Hiking Trail where you can enjoy abundant natural ecological scenery.
