Dihua Street business district’s pedestrian-friendly space: Taipei City Government’s Transportation Bureau and Dihua Street Business Development Association have launched a trial holiday pedestrian zone in September. To support this initiative, local businesses have pooled resources to launch 34 events themed “Dadaocheng Freestyle!”

During the event, Dadaocheng business district specially arranged for traditional Chinese medicine shop owners to become bartenders, offering five signature herbal cocktails, including love jade plum sour salsa, snow frog rosehip tea, and sour plum tequila gelato drinks. They also organized a “Herbal Experience Group” where participants can sample all five cocktails. The participating shops include second-generation owners of five time-honored Chinese medicine establishments—Cheng Shin Pharmacy, Lian Tong Han Fang, Liu An Tang Herbal Medicine Shop, Chang F Herbal Medicine, and Bai Heng Herbs—combining over 200 years of herbal expertise with modern creativity to inject new possibilities into the future of the traditional Chinese medicine industry.

The Dihua Street pedestrian zone trial runs every Sunday in September from 10 AM to 5 PM, covering the section between Gui Sui Street and Nanjing West Road. On the final trial day, September 24, the business district plans to collaborate with traditional Chinese medicine shops and new ventures such as “Frau X” and Luo Bar to host the “Dadaocheng Herbal Party.” The party will feature innovative cocktails and light bites inspired by herbal Chinese medicine, along with a DIY buffet, plus live DJ performances, serving as the closing event of the pedestrian zone trial.
