The new landmark in Taoyuan, the “Xinxikou Suspension Bridge,” originally scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017, has been delayed until the Hot Spring Carnival in January 2018 due to ongoing construction of surrounding facilities and amenities. Once opened, the 303-meter-long bridge will become Taiwan’s longest hammock-style suspension bridge.

The original Xikou Suspension Bridge was demolished in 2015 due to aging infrastructure. The Fuxing District Office then constructed the new Xinxikou Suspension Bridge, which spans 303 meters in length and 1.2 meters in width, connecting Jiaobanshan and Xikou Plateau while crossing the Dahan River. Surrounding facilities, including the visitor center, Xikou Plaza, Xikou Transfer Hub, and Xikou Standby Center, have been gradually completed.

The Xinxikou Suspension Bridge is set to open alongside the Hot Spring Carnival in January 2018, with an early preview possibly available as early as October 22 during the “2017 Formosa Glory: Persimmon Red Heartbeat – Soaring Super Marathon” event. Additionally, the Luofu Atayal Hot Spring Park will also open at the same time, linking Luofu and the Little Wulai Waterfall Scenic Area to create a new tourism highlight.
