The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration will trial night cruises every Friday and Saturday from October 20 to December 16, for a total of 18 days. This period includes the annual Fireworks Festival, one of the major annual events for visiting Sun Moon Lake in autumn and a new option for travelers.

The annual Fireworks Festival is one of Taiwan’s major recurring events. This year, from October 20 to December 16, every Friday and Saturday will feature the highlight of restarted night lake cruises. A total of 14 electric boats are participating in this night cruise trial, with operators decorating the vessels with stuffed toys and balloons, complemented by colorful lighting to create a romantic atmosphere. Multiple illuminated boats will sail in a line around Sun Moon Lake, making the night cruises even more spectacular and adding vibrant colors to the nighttime scenery of the lake. Paired with the fireworks display of the Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Festival, this will make the night cruise activity a hot new topic.

In addition to night lake cruises, there will also be fireworks music concerts held for the Fireworks Festival, featuring performances by acts such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra affiliated with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra across three fireworks music events, aiming to liven up every night of the festival.
