Known as the Kitchen of Japan, Tsukiji Market is one of the must-visit attractions for tourists in Tokyo. Not only can you enjoy fresh, affordable, and delicious cuisine, but you can also witness the lively auctions inside the market. With over 80 years of history, the aging infrastructure and frequent fire incidents have led the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to announce on the previous day that the relocation of Tsukiji Market will be completed between September and October 2018. Below is a list of five popular and highly recommended eateries in Tsukiji Market—visitors should seize the opportunity to pay them a visit.

1. Sushi Dai
Visiting the famous Sushi Dai in Tsukiji often means waiting in line for at least 1–3 hours, but aside from the fresh and delicious sushi, the service is also top-notch. Although the queue can be tiring, the delicious meal you get in the end is sure to soothe your mind, body, and soul.

2. Yachiyo
If you’re not into raw fish, Yachiyo is your best bet. Located between Daiwa Sushi and Sushi Dai, their fried dishes are the star attraction. Not only are the tonkatsu (fried pork cutlets) delicious, but their fresh fried seafood options are also mouthwatering. There’s a wide variety of seafood combinations to choose from, with special recommendations including the signature Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday-only “Energy Meal” (スタミナ食), a set with fried pork cutlet, char siu, and tamagoyaki, as well as fresh seafood sets. The portions are so generous they might leave you too full to move.

3. Segawa
Segawa is a small stall that exclusively serves tuna donburi (tuna rice bowls) and is the original pioneer of this dish in Tsukiji. Fresh tuna slices are lightly marinated in a special sauce, then generously placed over carefully selected white rice, topped with seaweed, wasabi, grated ginger, and soy sauce. They offer a limited quantity each day, so it’s best to go early if you want to try it.
