November in Taiwan marks the arrival of late autumn, when the eastern night sky is dominated by the constellations of the season. The Leonids meteor shower occurs annually between November 6 and 30, and the International Meteor Organization predicts this year's peak will occur at 00:30 on November 18. The radiant point will be in the head of the Leo constellation, rising around 23:00 on the evening of the 17th from the northeast, and will be positioned slightly east of the zenith before dawn at 5:00 AM. This year’s viewing conditions are favorable, as the moonlight will not interfere.

This weekend, in addition to the peak of the Leonids meteor shower, you can also witness the conjunction of Venus and the Moon on November 17. Before sunrise on the 17th, in the low southeastern sky, you can see the crescent moon of the 29th lunar day and Venus to its lower right in the dawn light; not far to the right of the moon, Jupiter can also be faintly seen.
