Located in the Shiti Ping Bay, “Desert Style” is covered in thick cement walls overrun with vines, resembling a wonderland straight out of The Wizard of Oz – an extraordinarily unique structure that creates a wild, ultimate atmosphere, attracting many travelers, hipsters, and artists.

Hidden away in Hualien, the Desert Style homestay was designed by renowned architect Chen Guanhua. Unlike the modern, tech-driven aesthetic, this building resembles a long-abandoned secret base deep in the forest, blending seamlessly with the natural landscape of blue seas, clear skies, the Pacific Ocean, and vast lawns and rice fields, giving off a distinctly primal vibe.
