Many people traveling to Japan’s Kansai region arrive at the airport and drag their luggage straight to Kyoto for sightseeing. Some may choose to leave their bags at their hotel, but if check-in time hasn’t started yet, dealing with luggage can become a major hassle for travelers. Sensing the needs of tourists, Japan Post has launched a “baggage storage service” at Kyoto Central Post Office, allowing visitors to store their luggage without dragging it around and ruining their travel mood.

This baggage storage service is initially available only at “Kyoto Central Post Office” starting December 1, 2017, and has not yet been rolled out to other Japanese post offices. Located near Kyoto Station, Kyoto Central Post Office is a key transportation hub, adding to the convenience for travelers.

Additionally, besides Japanese instructions, the counter is also equipped with instant translation devices for Chinese and English, so language barriers are not a concern — making it very convenient.
