Free up-close plane watching & a must-photo 3D painted wall – new attraction

Songshan Airport has a new highlight: the second terminal mall, operated by President Chain Store, has officially opened after more than half a year of planning and design. Centered around the theme "Songshan Takes Off. Art Meets Flavor," it creates a brand-new leisure space, with the venue design incorporating iconic Taiwanese attractions. In addition to introducing nine major national brands, the 1F area combines elements of the "Bloggers' Future Bookstore" concept to serve as a cultural and creative exhibition platform. Moreover, the 3F houses the only airport observation deck in Taiwan where visitors can watch planes take off and land up close. Leveraging this prime plane-viewing spot, a 3D painted wall titled "Aviation Citizens' Stage" has been created, adding more enjoyment for both passengers and plane-spotters.

This time, the domestic terminal’s commercial facilities adopt the theme "Taiwan Blue Magpie Soaring in the Sky," and are designed around three major imagery elements: "Golden Impression of Golden Sorghum Fields," "Sea of Golden Shower Flowers in Penghu," and "Golden Wave of Daylilies at Liushishi Mountain in Hualien." Based on traveler needs, a variety of brand counters have been introduced, including dining, coffee, fast food, convenience stores, souvenir shops, and aviation-themed stores, welcoming visitors with a fresh new look.

Upon entering the mall, the first thing you see is Taiwan’s endemic bird, the "Taiwan Blue Magpie." The image of the magpie soaring in the sky represents the idea of Songshan taking off. The 1F floor showcases the golden impression of Kinmen sorghum fields and the sea of golden shower flowers in Penghu, while the 2F food and dining area transforms into the golden wave of daylilies at Liushishi Mountain in Hualien, combining beautiful landscapes from around Taiwan to present an image of abundance and deliciousness.

The mall also introduces well-known convenience stores, fast food, and gift brands such as 7-ELEVEN, Yu Jen Hsin, MOS Burger, Shun Cheng Cake, Cairshop aviation store, and Fuxing Aviation Lounge, offering a treat for travelers. To cater to passengers’ needs for quick meals, a variety of fast food options are available, including those from 7-ELEVEN, MOS Burger, and Shun Cheng Cake, as well as choices for souvenirs and memorabilia from Yu Jen Hsin and the Aviation Souvenir Museum.
