MUJI’s East Asia Staff Selection Exhibition – Junya Ishigami’s Only Taiwan Lecture

This time, MUJI has done something different by holding the “My Found MUJI East Asia” exhibition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It is the first collaborative project involving staff from four East Asian countries—Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea—who have collectively selected traditional items representing their respective regions. These selections were then reviewed by MUJI design advisor Mr. Junya Ishigami, who chose the representative products for “My Found MUJI East Asia.”

MUJI first launched the “Found MUJI” project in 2003, aiming to re-examine traditional everyday items from around the world through a process of “searching and discovering,” uncovering their often forgotten or overlooked true value. By preserving their essence and refining them, these items can be integrated into modern life. Through MUJI’s recommendations, more people can learn about the lives and items from different regions.

The “My Found MUJI East Asia” exhibition will run from December 1 to December 10. On December 2, Japanese designer Junya Ishigami will be the sole lecturer for a special lecture in Taiwan, where he will not only discuss the selection process of “My Found MUJI East Asia” but also share insights on the meaning of life and design, as well as objects and cultural heritage.
