All Studio Ghibli architectural creations in one place – A must-visit 3D exhibit for fans

Studio Ghibli animations are childhood memories for many, growing up alongside fans. The works feature numerous memorable buildings, including the “Bathhouse” of Granny Yubaba from Spirited Away and the “Kusakabe House” from My Neighbor Totoro. The “Ghibli Architectural 3D Exhibition” brings together the buildings featured in these works and was held at the Osaka Abeno Harukas Art Museum from December 2, 2017 to February 5, 2018.

From Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind to Ghibli’s latest animation, The Recall of Marnie, a total of 450 pieces of architectural structures, background artwork, and conceptual sketches from the works—including production art materials—will be displayed at this exhibition. Fans can see the three-dimensional representations of iconic buildings and explore the origins of their design concepts.
