As Christmas approaches, festive decorations and light displays are being rolled out around the globe. In Europe, in addition to the colorful Christmas markets in various countries, the renowned shopping street “Regent Street” in London, UK, is famous for its magical and colorful Christmas lights. The Regent Street Christmas light switch-on, which began in 1954, is one of the biggest Christmas light events in London, with rows of angel-shaped lights hanging high above the street being the most eye-catching feature.

This year’s theme is the Spirit of Christmas, with a grand Christmas parade and decorations adorning Regent Street. More than 300,000 LED lights have been used to create 16 angel designs that watch over the street. The spectacular light switch-on took place on November 16, covering areas from Regent Street, St. James’s, Piccadilly, Oxford Circus to Waterloo Place, kicking off the festive glow in central London.
