On flat ground, the earliest was at 5:12:55.4 at Longtou Rock in Orchid Island, while the earliest on the main island’s flat land was at 5:15:12.1 at Sanxiantai in Taitung County. We also introduce seven top spots across Taiwan to watch the sunrise, where you can enjoy not only the first light but also breathtaking scenery.

1. Sun Moon Lake – Golden Dragon Mountain Sunrise

Taitung in eastern Taiwan has long been a must-visit destination for those welcoming the new year’s first light. The Millennium Sunrise Memorial Park on the Taimali Coast offers captivating views of the Pacific Ocean, attracting large crowds every year and earning the reputation as the “Hometown of the Rising Sun.”
