Singapore’s business district is filled with towering buildings, and looking up, you’ll see nothing but clusters of upward-growing developments. However, one stands out as truly unique — its red lattice facade is largely covered with plants, resembling a green building that has emerged from another world. This is the Oasia Hotel, created by WOHA Architects. Conceived as a “different kind of commercial building,” it features a full expanse of greenery within its saturated orange-red metal latticework layers, overturning the typical cold image of high-rises and successfully attracting many visitors.

WOHA refers to the building as a “living wall.” Not only is its appearance distinctive, but it also creates a visual buffer zone, introducing a different landscape amidst the uniformity of shopping malls and skyscrapers in the business district. The architectural design utilizes stacking and layering techniques to interweave office spaces, hotel rooms, and sky gardens. Its open design enhances overall ventilation, effectively bringing natural light and air into the lives of both guests and office workers, crafting a comfortable green space.

The 27-story building allows guests to dine at on-site restaurants or enjoy drinks at the bar. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, terraces, complimentary WiFi throughout, and free parking.
