Minions have a new parade again！Universal Studios Japan’s “15th Anniversary Fun Guide”

Universal Studios Japan is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, with the theme “Re-boooooooorn!” Throughout the entire year, the park will bring various new surprises to visitors！These include a 15th-anniversary special parade, party performances, the Re-boooooooorn market, special meals, and brand-new rides. Below is a compiled“Universal Studios Japan 15th Anniversary Activities Guide”, telling you what food, fun, and must-buy merchandise you can’t miss.
Attractions

1. Flying Dinosaur: To coincide with the 15th anniversary, the park has introduced a brand-new roller coaster, the “Flying Dinosaur.” Located in the Jurassic Park area, it claims to be the world’s longest and highest-altitude difference flying roller coaster. When it opened in March this year, it set a record with a queue time of over 10 hours!
Due to the popularity of this attraction, while visitors used to head straight to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter upon park opening, now many choose to go directly to the Flying Dinosaur queue. After riding, they also use their tickets to draw fast passes for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which is another fun tip.

2. Summer-exclusive “Weekly Shōnen Jump”
This summer, Universal Studios Japan has collaborated with the popular manga magazine “Weekly Shōnen Jump,” launching a three-month limited-time attraction and exhibition starting July 1. As for the attraction, it includes a Death Note escape game, where players must solve various puzzles together with the famous detective L and escape alive from Kira’s clutches. The entire escape game lasts about 95 minutes and is by full reservation only. In addition to the park entry ticket, an additional ticket must be purchased.
Additionally, Universal Studios Japan will feature the globally super-popular manga “Dragon Ball” as the theme, debuting a CG anime combined with 4D entertainment facility – Dragon Ball Z The Real 4D. Through CG anime and effects such as vibrations and wind, visitors can experience firsthand the feeling of being in the middle of the characters’ close combat battles right before their eyes！There are also live-action One Piece theater performances, street water shows, and other entertainment events. From July 1 to September 4, visitors must come and join in on all of them.

1. Re-boooooooorn 15th Anniversary Parade
The Re-boooooooorn 15th Anniversary Parade, which takes place only once a day, utilizes various gorgeous floats paired with catchy and upbeat songs, getting visitors to dance along. At the climax of the parade, a large amount of bubbles are sprayed, instantly turning the entire park street into a bubble world！The daily parade times are announced on the official website.

2. Re-boooooooorn Party Performance
Utilizing the large stage within Universal Studios Japan, an extremely joyful musical performance is designed, featuring various character roles such as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Sesame Street appearing to lead the sing-along. In the end, several colorful ribbons extend from the center of the stage for visitors to pull together, with a multitude of ribbons flying in the air — an unmissable party performance.

3. Brand-New Minion Parade Performance
The super-popular superstar “Minions” also have a brand-new performance – Minions Putting Out Fires！The show tells the story of a fire breaking out on Hollywood Boulevard, where the Minions urgently arrive in a fire truck for a rescue, but accidentally involve the audience, spraying water everywhere with hoses, drenching visitors before they can react！Therefore, it is recommended to wear a raincoat when watching this performance to avoid getting completely wet; after the performance, visitors can also take photos with the Minions in designated areas.

4. Jurassic Park Dinosaur Show
In the tropical jungle, the herbivorous dinosaur Triceratops comes out for a stroll, only to be confronted by a pack of carnivorous Velociraptors and the sudden appearance of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Witnessing giant dinosaurs engaging in a dramatic standoff right before your eyes offers visitors an even more thrilling, immersive experience.

The park also offers three Jurassic Park-themed set meals, allowing visitors to personally taste what a "dinosaur egg" is like.

Re-boooooooorn Market
Universal Studios Japan has designated a corner of the park as the Re-boooooooorn Market, where you can both eat and play. One of the most popular attractions is the "super-sized cola vending machine," which requires two people working together — with one person sitting on their partner’s shoulders and being lifted up high — just to insert coins and buy a cola. Participants include couples and friends alike, and those who manage to buy the cola together might even receive a mysterious surprise.

Another highlight in the market is the turkey leg stall, where visitors must first play Russian roulette to let fate decide which meal they’ll get. Options include regular-sized, Funny, and Mega turkey legs — with the Mega size so large it's almost too big to handle with two hands. Getting it is totally a win.
Merchandise
In addition to launching a 15th-anniversary Re-boooooooorn merchandise shop, Universal Studios Japan has also introduced newly designed souvenirs across various themed areas. Highlights include a new version of the Minion popcorn bucket and magic wands at “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” that let you cast spells.

Since April this year, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” has introduced “magic wands” that allow visitors to test their magical talents. By following a map, guests can find six hidden spell-casting spots within the magical area. With staff guidance, point your wand at the specified location and recite the spell — once successful, you can learn spells such as making it snow, having chimneys shoot fire, or closing lids.

Universal Studios Japan’s Minion Plaza has also launched the new generation of “Minion Popcorn Bucket 2.0,” which not only has a different design from the first generation but will even greet you when you press it.
The second-generation Minion popcorn bucket is modeled after Bob. It’s slightly shorter than the first generation and features a different design — you can see Bob holding a teddy bear in his arms. Aside from being filled with popcorn, the new highlight is that it “talks.” Just lightly press the button on the minion’s protruding butt, and you’ll hear the minion say “Hi Up” and even sing a song for you. It’s a must-buy souvenir for anyone visiting Universal Studios Japan this year.
