The world's first MUJI HOTEL debuts – Take an exclusive sneak peek at the hotel

MUJI has expanded into various fields in recent years, and in 2017, it decided to build the world’s first MUJI Hotel. Surprisingly, the location was not chosen in Japan but in Shenzhen as the first step in expanding the MUJI Hotel’s footprint. It also announced that MUJI HOTEL would officially open on January 18, 2018. Recently, interior photos of the hotel were unveiled ahead of time, featuring the familiar minimalist style and warm wooden tones.

Shenzhen MUJI HOTEL has a total of 79 guest rooms, along with a MUJI restaurant and a two-floor MUJI flagship store. The hotel offers five room types, and from furniture and daily necessities to small spatial details, all use MUJI products. The design extensively incorporates recycled wood, eco-friendly materials, and sustainable construction methods. True to MUJI’s minimalist and functional subtractive design philosophy, it provides travelers with a stress-free and comfortable accommodation experience, while pricing is set at a mid-range level.

MUJI Hotels are currently planned to have three branches: MUJI HOTEL Shenzhen (opened January 18, 2018), MUJI HOTEL Beijing (opened March 20, 2018), and MUJI HOTEL Ginza, which will open in 2019.
