Hong Kong Charter Flights Launch Direct Summer Routes to Hualien — 2,000 Visitors from Hong Kong and Macau Expected

The Hualien County Government and the Hong Kong Office of the Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications have collaborated to boost summer tourism by launching direct charter flights between “Hualien and Hong Kong.” The first flight is scheduled to arrive in Hualien on July 20. During the summer season, these direct flights are expected to bring approximately 2,000 visitors and generate around NT$16.5 million in tourism revenue for Hualien.

Peng Weizu, acting director of the Hualien County Government Tourism Department, stated that a total of 10 charter flight services will be operated by airlines including China Airlines and Cathay Dragon. Specifically, Cathay Dragon will provide three flights on July 20, 23, and 27, while China Airlines’ B738 aircraft will operate seven flights on July 30, August 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, and 20.

Direct flights to Hualien will allow travelers from Hong Kong and Macau to bypass the hassle of transfers, giving them more time to explore Hualien and enabling them to plan more in-depth travel experiences.
