Aside from Seoul’s Everland and Lotte World, Korea is also planning to build a brand-new theme park in Busan. The Busan Urban Corporation recently announced that it will construct an ultra-large “OSIRIA Theme Park” in Busan by the end of 2019. Covering a total area of 3.66 million square meters, it will be 2.5 times larger than Everland and will become the largest theme park in Korea. The site is located in Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan.

The park will feature 31 large-scale amusement facilities from around the world, including non-powered sleds, super-sized roller coasters, giant Ferris wheels, large outdoor lake squares, children’s play areas, as well as outdoor landscapes, fountains, and themed decorations. Surrounding areas will also include a super five-star hotel and a large aquarium to attract tourists from various countries and demographics.

After obtaining construction approval, OSIRIA Theme Park began construction at the end of 2017 and is set to complete and gradually open its facilities in the second half of 2019. Once completed, it will become a new iconic landmark for Busan tourism.
