Free attraction count rises again: Qingshui Park is like a paradise on earth

Taitung has gained another free attraction. "Guanshan Qingshui Park" in Taitung has been open to the public free of charge since 2018, so visitors no longer need to pay an entrance fee or cleaning fee when they want to take photos or go for a stroll. Guanshan Qingshui Park is Taiwan's first environmental park, covering a vast area of 34 hectares, making it a great destination for leisure and recreation.

The park features leisurely cycling paths that loop around the entire area, connecting with the Guanshan Town Circle Cycling Route. Visitors can freely ride bikes around Guanshan and enjoy observing wild birds and natural ecology. The Beinan River within the park is the river with the lowest water pollution level in the province, offering a rustic and water-friendly space.

Visitors can enjoy the fun of getting close to water in the safe and clean artificial water play channel, fountain plaza, and water play area. In addition, the park provides services such as parking, rest areas, dining, gatherings, park information, educational exhibits, and guided tours. Major facilities include observation pavilions, a stargazing platform, and bird-watching shelters.

The park features an approximately 800-meter-long ribbon-like artificial lake, surrounded by lawns and shaded by lush trees, providing a hidden sanctuary for the various wild birds living in the lake. It’s an ideal spot for bird-watching and observing fish swimming in the water. Climbing up to the tall observation deck also offers a view of the pastoral scenery of Guanshan Town.
