The stunning "Angel’s Tears" Lake Kaming, beloved by many hiking enthusiasts, is periodically closed to hikers as part of a “Quiet Mountain” initiative to reduce human impact. During this time, all hiking applications are suspended, and surrounding trails and mountain huts are completely closed.

The quiet mountain period runs from January 5 to March 31, 2018. During this time, the high-altitude mountain climate is colder, and the Taitung Forest Management Office uses this period to repair trails and carry out maintenance work. The observation platform will also be under construction during this time.
