Breathtaking 360-degree views of snow-capped mountains & the world’s steepest mountain cable car

The Alps cover about two-thirds of Switzerland, and in winter, most of the mountains are blanketed in snow, creating unforgettable scenery. Now, you can take in this snowy ridge without hiking or taking a helicopter. At the end of 2017, Switzerland completed one of the world’s most remarkable engineering feats—a NT$1.6 billion project that took 14 years to build the world’s steepest mountain cable car, the “Stoos Bahn Tram.”

This mountain cable car starts in the city of Schwyz and ends in the town of Stoos. At an altitude of 1,300 meters, the track spans 1,720 meters in length, climbing a height difference of 743 meters at a speed of 10 meters per second, with an incline angle of up to 47.7 degrees. The entire journey takes approximately 2 to 5 minutes, breaking the record for the world’s steepest cable car track.
