International architecture master Tadao Ando’s new work in China, the “Pearl Art Museum,” is situated on the 8th floor of Shanghai's Aegean Sea Shopping Park. Together with the Xinhua Bookstore on the 7th floor, they form the “Light Space.” By perfectly merging the classic concept of light-based architecture with museum design, and after two years of creation and construction, Pearl Art Museum has become a brand-new cultural landmark in Shanghai.

In addition to this new masterpiece, the Pearl Art Museum, Tadao Ando is also showcasing his own retrospective exhibition “Tadao Ando Exhibition: Leading” here. This is the first time he has held a personal exhibition in a museum he designed himself. The exhibition is divided into five sections: Journey of Light, Light of Thought, Light of Art, Light of Creation, and Light of Reading. Through architectural models, documentary videos, design sketches, and other forms, the exhibition not only displays Tadao Ando’s iconic works but also explores influences beyond architecture.
