Pingtung’s Wutai Township is a southern hotspot for flower viewing. Cherry blossoms have been planted here since the Japanese colonial period, and the annual cherry blossom season in Wutai takes place around spring and winter. This year’s Wutai cherry blossom season has already begun, with cherry trees stretching over 10 kilometers from kilometer 38 to 48 along Provincial Highway 24 in Alishi Tribe, where blossoms are blooming one after another. Visitors can plan a cherry blossom viewing trip to explore the area.

Among them, the most popular Cherry Blossom King continues to draw considerable attention this year and is expected to bloom around the end of January, making the Spring Festival holiday the best time for flower viewing. This year’s cherry blossoms in Wutai have bloomed earlier than usual. Along the road leading to Alishi Tribe, cherry trees on both sides are already in full bloom, while the rest will gradually flower by the end of the month. Visitors can take advantage of the Spring Festival break to come and admire the blossoms.
In addition to cherry blossom viewing, from now until February 28, the township office will also host a tribal specialty industry market every Saturday and Sunday, as well as during the Spring Festival holiday and national holidays, at the Wutai Tribal Plaza. The market will feature tribal cuisine, handicrafts, agricultural specialties, and more. Nearby, there’s also a lane-way tour experience.
