Must-visit new attractions for New Year spring outings: Six brand-new spots across Taiwan

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, many new attractions have opened across Taiwan, including skywalks, suspension bridges, hot spring parks, and waterfront promenades. Each spot offers breathtaking views, making them perfect for visitors to explore with family and friends during the holiday for a spring outing.

1. Taoyuan – Xinxiikou Suspension Bridge, Luofu Atayal Story Park
The Xinxiikou Suspension Bridge took over three years of planning, reconstruction, and renovation. The bridge spans 303 meters in length, making it the longest suspension bridge in Taiwan. The original Xinxiikou Bridge was demolished in 2015 due to aging infrastructure, and the new bridge connects Jiaobanshan and the Xinxiikou Plateau, crossing the Dahan River.

Ticket Prices: NT$100 for adults, NT$70 for discounted tickets
Free Admission: Residents registered in Fuxing District, children under 6 years old, seniors aged 65 and above, individuals with disabilities holding a disability handbook and one accompanying person, as well as personnel on official business or conducting official duties.

The Luofu area in Fuxing successfully drilled its first hot spring well and has set up three foot soaking pools at the Atayal Story Park, offering visitors a new winter activity option to enjoy warm foot baths. Additionally, on January 13, the Luofu Hot Spring Food Carnival will be held at the story park. The event will feature performances by the Original Forest Art Dance Troupe and local amateur singers, along with indigenous food stalls around the venue and DIY experiences such as jewelry crafting.

2. Kaohsiung – Gangshan Eye Sky Corridor

Kaohsiung’s first skywalk, “Gangshan Eye,” is located in the Xiaogangshan area. The main tower stands 40.5 meters tall, connected to the corridor by 24 suspension cables, with the walkway stretching 88 meters in length. From Gangshan Eye, visitors can overlook Agongdian Reservoir, the Greater and Lesser Gangshan mountains, and the Taiwan Strait, enjoying a vast panoramic view of greater Kaohsiung.

3. Keelung – Hepingdao Park

Hepingdao Park, once selected as one of the world’s 21 most beautiful sunrise observation spots, had been closed for six years due to safety concerns. It has now reopened under the management of the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration, which adopts a coexistence approach with nature through contracted operations. Additionally, lanterns left over from the Taiwan Lantern Festival will be used to create an environment themed “Warm and Happy Coastline,” giving Hepingdao a cozy and romantic atmosphere.
