The Tai’an Cherry Blossom Season in Houli District has become a highlight of cherry blossom viewing in Taichung City, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Along the 200-meter stretch of Anmei Road in front of the Houli Tai’an Police Station, nearly 100 cherry blossom trees are planted, and when they bloom, they are quite dense, including various types such as double-flowered cherry blossoms and Yoshino cherry blossoms. The night view of the cherry blossoms at the police station has become a popular spot, offering a unique cherry blossom experience.

The 2018 Houli Tai’an Cherry Blossom Season kicked off on February 24th, during which traffic control will be implemented and shuttle bus services will be provided. The best time for flower viewing is around the Lantern Festival. Visitors can take public transportation or park their vehicles near the police station before enjoying the blossoms to their heart’s content.
Besides cherry blossom viewing, you can also explore the nearby bald cypress forest and the historic Tai’an Old Train Station on the old mountain railway line. You can stroll around the train station without buying a platform ticket and immerse yourself in the nostalgic atmosphere of the old platform. After visiting the Tai’an Old Train Station, you can head to the Yuemei Sugar Refinery and stop by the Shusheng and Songhe Wineries.
